The community pot works if the people who eat it also fill it. This is the current habit, not a holiday.

Thursday is beans because the row along the fence is beans and because I am tired of opening the pot and finding one cabbage and a note that says help yourself. Help yourself is not a meal plan. The pot is the big one on the right burner. If it has food in it, you may take a bowl. You then put something back into the “cook” crate or you wash the bowl. Both, if you emptied it.
The right-hand dryer is the eat-me shelf. Opened cans, bread that is still honest, fruit that is today’s. The paper bag on top is seed. Seed is not a snack. I watched someone eat a packet’s worth of “peas” and then ask why the dirt was empty. The dirt was empty because the peas were you.

Project Cook and Sapph’s both add dishes that need more than a can and a lighter. Read the tooltip in the client. Do not follow a recipe from a video that was filmed on a different mod list and then blame the stove. If you want to test a new dish, use your own ingredients from a run. The shared crate is for the pot we already know how to make.
Water is the jug by the sink while the sink is safe, and the boiled jug with the string on it after that. Do not mix them. A string is not decoration. I tied it there so a thirsty person in first person, who cannot see a floating label from across the room, still grabs the right one.

Nutrition still matters when the dish is new. I spent a day on cabbage and called it a diet. The moodles disagreed. Protein is in the pantry’s left side, the cans with the meat labels, and those are for the pot and for runs, not for a single person to stack in a coat “for later” until the coat is a pantry. If you take two, say two. The board is not a sign-out sheet, but chat is.

No one is assigning chores with a spreadsheet. The rule under this thread is the loot rule: a marked crate is not the world. If the pot system stops working, we stop calling it a community kitchen and the food goes back to private bags. I would rather keep the pot. Wash the bowl.
