Building, sheets, and blood
A base is a door you can shut and a crate you can find again. Everything else is carpentry skill and taste.
Neat Building is the construction UI on this server. If a wall menu looks unfamiliar, you are in that mod, not in a broken vanilla panel. PZ Pulse and NeatUI Framework sit under a lot of the panels. Learn the new buttons once. Do not uninstall your way back to a year you remember.
Claim the building with a safehouse once you intend to sleep there more than once. Building without claiming is how a second player “helps” by disassembling your stairs for nails. Building in someone else’s claim is how you get a conversation with the host.
Sheets and windows
Fitted Sheets turns beds into a cloth supply and makes the sheet on a window a real object instead of a wish. Cover the windows you will light. Leave one upstairs window uncovered only if you are using it as a lookout and you accept the risk. Do not take the sheets off a safehouse window because your new outpost is drafty. That window was doing a job.
Barricades
Barricade Fix is installed so first person and barricades agree about collisions. Planks on the outside of a ground-floor window are still the classic. Planks on every window, including the one above your only stairs, are how you trap yourself in a fire or a room you can hear filling up. One exit stays usable. Furniture behind a door is a plan. Furniture you cannot move because your inventory is a junk drawer is not.
More Damaged Objects means the world breaks in more places. A pretty sink is not a promise. Check the fixture before you plumb a dream around it. Condition matters more than the icon.
Blood and the street
Rain Cleans Blood does what it says on the tin, outdoors, when it rains. It will not launder a hallway. If a fight happened in the kitchen, clean it before people cook. Corpses next to a wall attract the next fight. Move them away from doors you use, and do not leave a friend’s body in the street as a marker. Bring it in or ask. The journal and the bag are covered under skills and loot.
Generators and light
A generator is a noise source with a fuel tank. Put it where the hum is not in the bedroom window, and do not test it at midnight “for a second” if the area was quiet. Light Fix keeps first-person lights honest. A lamp in a sheeted room is fine. A lamp in an open garage is a lighthouse. Turn it off when you leave, the same way you would want the last person to have done.
